It’s going down in Durham! Mr. Fries Man is bringing loaded fries to the area! The social media sensation’s grand opening celebration will be on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 11 a.m.
DURHAM, NC – At 1105 W Main Street in Durham, the energizing blend of enthusiasm and grit is fueling local franchise owners Jaquetta Bratley and Safiyyah Williams toward the official grand opening of the area’s first Mr. Fries Man quick service take-out restaurant concept. The Triangle-area entrepreneurs selected the “Mr. Fries Man” because “fries are the MVP! “
“Who doesn’t love fries?” asks Williams. “We were both looking for a new business opportunity and I shared the Mr. Fries Instagram with Jaquetta and once she saw the food she responded ‘where do I sign?’ and the rest is history. We love that the franchise is black-owned and family-operated. This is the next major national franchise, mark my words!”
Mr. Fries Man is a black, family-owned restaurant that quickly became part of a revolutionary underground foodie frenzy in Los Angeles. In 2016, Craig Batiste, co-owner along with his wife Dorothy, took their backyard business to a franchise that started as a single restaurant in Gardena, CA. Their strong social media presence during the pandemic captivated their audience, which resulted in a remarkable following—currently over 530,000 followers strong. There are now over 21 franchises, with Bratley and Williams set to open the first North Carolina outpost.
Mr. Fries Man will be open seven days a week, Sunday through Thursday 11 a.m. until 10 p.m and Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. until 1 a.m. The menu features a wide variety of the brand’s signature loaded fries including BBQ Bacon Ranch Shrimp, Chicken Bacon Parmesan, Honey Garlic Shrimp Steak, Lemon Garlic Crab and Shrimp, Chili Cheese, Beyond Meat’s plant-based meat, and more! There are more than a dozen toppings to choose from and nine sauces, so customers can truly have fries any way they would like.
